Conversations with Ghosts

The new record Conversations with Ghosts by Trista Hill and Phil Maneri is now out everywhere you might look to get new music. Here are the liner notes cuz you can’t usually find them most places

“Are you a good witch or a bad witch?” This innocent query reminds us that what we fear can also be friendly or benevolent. So it is with Ghosts – echoes of our past, those no longer with us, unrealized ideas and dreams, feelings not fully reconciled. Real or imagined, fear complicates our experience with Ghosts, and we often forget that recoiling from or embracing our Ghosts is a choice.

This is a journey with Ghosts.
Ghosts of who we are and who we are trying to be.
Ghosts of others and of ourselves. 
Ghosts of transgressions and regrets.
Ghosts we understand and have yet to understand. 
Ghosts both real and imagined. 
While Ghosts are impermanent and transient, they also live on – this recording is an attempt to reconcile with Ghosts as they accompany us on a possible path to peace.

These live recorded improvisations are moments in time. Spontaneously created; captured, then released.

Next time you see or hear us, we will have exited this past and embraced the present.

We will be having a new conversation.
